yeah Ok, his hair on the black-white photographes doesn't look dark (black), thats true but how blonde was he really, like straw blonde? i don't think so. both "color" pictures posted here are later re-coloured so neither one is actual evidence...

He was blonde like most of the Balkan Turks Though it's not something like Finnish or Nordic blondness. The yellow tone of the hair is slightly closer to brown, when compared with more northern peoples. You can see many such examples among Balkan Turks

Besides Ataturk, our (Azerbaijan) former president Heydar Aliyev and his son current prezident Ilham Aliyev are also blond.... Heydar and İlham Aliyev were not racially Turk. They had armenian and kurdish blood in their vessels. You can see many blonde Turks btwn Tatars, Gagauz, Chuvash, Bashkirs and some regions in Anatolia too... For instance Yoruk Nomads of Toros Mountains have many people blonde white skin and blue-green eyed. In western Anatolia, there is Kaz Mountains near Dardanos. Tahtaci (A Turkman Tribal structure, they mostly work as forester in the mountains)people have live there. They have many legends like Sarı Kız(Yellow Girl) and physically you can find many blond people among them. In the western and Easttern Black Sea Region, you also find many blond Turks. So dont make non-sense generalizations. Like "There is no black haired German"

Yes Haydar Aliyev is a non-Turk, and he is not blonde, I mean not even close to blonde, lol. His son Ilham's mother, or rather Haydar's wife is a Turk thereby making Ilham half-Turk, but he too is not blonde, not even the slightest shade of blonde anywhere on his sorry self. Qardas Zakali, no offence but u might be color-blind, dont get me wrong there are blonde Turks, and I am sure u are one. Take care.

Yes indeed, when I was in Anamur four years ago, we went to a Yörük village in the mountains, which had a blonde-majority. The thing is that, these Yörüks are the most non-mixed among the Turks of Anatolia ;D Btw, we also have a blonde relative (from my father's side, thus a Kayı tribesman) who is blonde; in our hometown, he is known as "Sarı Amat" (Yellow Ahmet) ;D ;D

i think you got me wrong, of course i know that there are Turks that are blonde but you don't find those in the east, only among western Turks which is obviously not inheritly Turkic feature. even Ihsan just confirmed that Balkan (most western Turks) are mostly blonde-brown.

Oh yeah I know this girl, she was in a Nat. Geog. special documentary. Some woman from the states had traveled to Mongolia in search of white people, as if somehow certain euro-aryan types had been stuck there among the Altaics, I couldnt believe N.Geog. would even air this whack show. I mean look at her, her face is totally Mongol, some people get carried away by hair color as this American lady had, hair color does not mean jack at all.

Yes indeed, it's not only genetics that determine physical features (especially eye and hair color); climatical conditions also have an important effect.

Meiramgul a Kazakh girl from Mongolia Never say "Never" buddy ;D actually this girl was used as "evidence" by that scientist that Central Asian Sakas did not dissapear but were assimilated by Eastern newcommers. and there are also blonde people in Afghanistan surroudned by Turkic or iranic people on all sides, that prooves nothign since those areas, particularly Afghanistan, were subject to many migrations. you can also find albinos in africa and i remember seeing a black african with natural blonde hair. such oddities can happen everywhere. even the famous Tarim mummies from East Turkestan show how far east Caucasian-lookign people reached in ancient times. fact is, and you cannot deny this, that blonde Turks are the exception and not the rule and one blonde Kazakh girl amongst millions which are not prooves nothing.
