You are not Oirat then! It was more important for Oirats to walk straight than Halh Mongols! You know some Oirats created special boots with same ends in front & back. Ppl who saw such foot prints could not tell where the person went! It was used during civil war between Halha Mongols & Oirat Mongols. How can you not know your Oirat story! I guess Urianhai ppl used it!

Everything in humans life should be straight. In video I told : Mongol who look after how they look care about it. You are the only one who don`t know it & argue on this!!!

Oirats in Mongolia are assimilated into Halh culture, for us Oirats from Kalmykia, don't expect the culture to be the same.
Nonetheless, I've kinda lost track of what we're arguing about ne ways.

Finally saw this movie. I read this thread before I watched the film. I could understand how you guys would be annoyed by the inaccuracies of the movie. I thought the sets and costume designs were very well done though. My girlfriend was cringing when the non-Mongolians were speaking Mongolian, but she said at least it was in Mongolian. The ending was the worst climax ever, quite a let down. It's as if they ran out of money or something and decided to end the battle in such a lame 'thunderous' way. The dual swordsmen deal was also lame, in fact it was really lame. I was hoping for some more realistic Braveheart type butchery, but none of that.
I would say that movie had good intentions, but missed the mark on several fronts. Even with the inaccuracies the ending was very weak, sort of lagged story-wise as well. Still a very good looking movie, really enjoyed the visuals. For an Asian-American like me, it was easy to pick out who was Japanese, Chinese, etc. When Tadanobu Asano was talking it sounded like he was mumbling Japanese. I just couldn't see why they didn't cast more Mongolians. Anyways, that's my 2 cents!

That's exactly what I think about the movie. The costumes (excluding those of the Merkit) and the soundtrack was good, but the rest wasn't.
