BTW, what does Part One mean? will there be a second part? Yes, this movie is about the early career of Genghis, his rise to power. The second part, if it will ever make it, will be about his worldwide conquests. Yep, the movie looks really good. But the majority of actors who are Chinese still don't look like Altaics

yes but the Mexicans/Germans/Hawaiians etc in Nomad didn't looked like Kazaks/Oirats either what disturbes me more are teh curved sabres, they look to much middle east, Noamd sabres are just slightly curved...

yes but the Mexicans/Germans/Hawaiians etc in Nomad didn't looked like Kazaks/Oirats either I never said they did. And that's the reason most of the Kazaks hate the filmmakers for that cast. Although Scott Lee looks like a decent Kazak. True. But there're a lot more drastic historic distortions going on, except for the sabers. Mongolia's historians analyzed the movie's plot script and criticized it for being historically inaccurate in many ways.

This is a 2-year old article about the criticism on inaccuracies: www.strana.ru/stories/03/04/17/3319/242230.html (in Russian) But today, director Bodrov says that they're working closely with the Mongolian government on the plot, and he "hopes" that Mongolia will accept the movie.

What's the problem? Why couldn't they use Kazaks in 'Nomad' and Mongols in 'Mongol'?

Hahaha I'm sure it will be a funny movie like the Aoki Ootami (Blue Wolf) made by the Japanese. I saw the Blue Wolf with my friends and laughed a lot. At the same time I felt regrets that the Japanese made a total joke out of glorious history... It was almost like a comedy with lots of faults history-wise. Also the actors (Japanese) look totally like peasants and you can't really think of warriors looking at them. Funny funny funny, the movie Blue Wolf was!
There was this big scandal going that Bodrov would make Temujin eat uncooked meat etc in the Mongol movie...
Let's just wait & see...
Mankind should be grateful to Chinggis Khaan for giving them a great chance to make money from him...

Apparently it's a love story of Temujin & Borte. I hope they don't intend to sell it to couples on a date. well, good enough for me if that helps to convince girls that Chinggis Khaan was something else than a bloodthirsty conqueror... mmh, after watching the vidoes i must say i'm very sceptical about the movie now, it looks like a lot of fantasy is going to be added to the movie..
