Islamic names are very very common amongst Uyghurs but a lot of my Uyghurs friends around my age tell me that when they have children they're going to give Turk names, not Islamic. One question though, on topic, do the Salar have a flag which represents them?

I was in Beijing recently. I went into several Muslim Halal restaurants. Some of them appeared to be "Xinjiang Uyghur Restaurants" from outside. But inside I find the servers and owners quite different from the Uyghurs. Some look completely like the Hui in appearance and dress. Some though, have even more caucasian looks than Uyghurs. Most of them told me that they are Salars from Ili/Gulja county in western Xinjiang.
Of course, the Salars were originally from Xunhua, Qinghai. The large resettled group in Gulja moved their in late Qing dynasty, around 1870s, when the Khanate of Yaqub Beg was eradicated by General Zuo Zongtang. The multiethnic population of Gulja dated from that time, also did the name of the province, Xinjiang, which literally means "New Frontier".

Even though this is not official, it did take as its reference 1) the ethnic patterns near the post of the Turkmen flag 2) Turkic blue 3) the Tamga of the Salur Oghuz

The Salars recognize the Salur Tamga, the Six Pointed Star of the Karamanoglular, and the flag of Turkmenistan. This unnofficial flag is close enough.

The Qinghai Yugurs are just descendants of the Shazhou (Sacu) Uygur state. However they have been lacking princely leadership for some time now. It shouldn't be hard to find emblems of the Shazhou Uyghur State.

I saw a picture online somewhere showing the Yugurs' ethnic flag being the same as the Uyghurs' flag.

Close enough? so you made this flag on the computer or is this actually their flag? I need to be sure because I'm collecting Turk flags on the internet and going to have them made into minitaure flags to put in my home.

the Turkmen flag pattern is actually an unnecessary addition and can be clipped.
However, the white Salur Tamga with the blue background is widely accepted and is not disputed.

The Salur Tamga is indisputably the OFFICIAL emblem of the Salars.
