Tatar Turks are ethnicly,Bulghar and Kypchak Turks.I think you mean this right? Well, I'm not sure were Bulgars actually Turkic, except language. Some Tatars in Volga are also originally Finnic (Mescherians).

Nowadays they are called Mishäär-Tatars. We have those people also in Finland and they are one of those only two good minorities. (Other are Lapps and f**k the rest minorities).

About the Bulghars: depends on which Bulghars you are talking about ;D
The Bulgarians in the Balkans (ancient Moesia and Thracia) are, as I said before, ex-subjects of mostly Slavised Thracians of the Turkic Bulghar State. The Bulghars of Volga (Itil)-Qama were and are a Turkic people. Modern Chuvash are their direct descendents, the Tatars of Tataristân (Qazan) are the mixture of those Bulghars and Qïpchaqs.

Tatars of Qazan cliam to be Bulgars who speak Tatar language (Resembling Kypchak language of Crimean tatars) because of the influence of the religion.

Salars aren't look Mongol like Turks mixed with Mongols. I think they aren't mixed much(they also don't look chinese much) Do they know that they are Turks?(I know this is a funny question, but there are a few peoples who don't know their Turk origins =) It's so funny that a great number of today's uighurs living in the countrysides think themselves are the descendants of those arabs in saudi arabia because of their similar moslem names with them.
