Another interesting site about Sakha (Yakuts): Listen to Sakha proverbs (mp3), or even 13 min long part of Olonkho epic (also mp3), and some other epics. The language sounds beautiful, indeed! Read Sakha legends, songs etc. Of course, the site is in Sakha, Russian and some English. www.uni-bonn.de/~uzsylm/sakha/bib/

I heard that Yakuts or Gagauz are Christians? Which had chosen Christrianizm as a religion?

The Gagauz are mostly Christians. The Sakha (Yaqut) include Christians but there is an important number of Shamanists among them too.

All Gagavuz are Christian. Some Gagavuz in Turkey have turned to Islam, but not the whole population in Turkey.

The Yakut are Shaman, maybe some still follow Tengriism. I heard some have converted to Russian Orthodox, but I'm sure it's just a small hand full.

By the way, let me remind that Yaqut is already the plural form Yaqut = Yaqas = Sakhas (Q has turned to KH while in the Sakha dialect, Y become S).

Nice book: " History of Yakutia" by A. I. Gogolev It contains interesting and useful information about origins and costums of peoples living in Yakutia... This is the most detailed source on Sakha people, their origins, language, costumes etc I could find... So, if you can speak Russian --> www.ysu.ru/facultet/kfi/books/HistoryOfYakutiya.htm
