What? It's definitely a fate I would LOVE impose on some people who really ticked me off lol I wonder what would be on your mind the last few breaths you have, no arms no legs, and sheez I wonder if your crotch would be intact when your legs get torn off lol.

Just curious, do people still consider Kuno Becker, as a Mexican (Err... he's Mexican right?) - not Central Asian looking enough? This is so weird cause my cousin looks exactly like Kuno Becker, but when he smiles he looks like Ricky Martin lol. I just told my other cousins and they realised it too, we've even started calling him Ablay

Hello,
The movie Nomad the Warrior it's very nice. I did like it a lot. It shows the clear steppe origin of the kazaks. Actually Cossacs and Kazaks it's a diferent thing. I would like to know more about the Dzunghars ,the people who confont the Kazaks in the movie. And it's bit strange for me that movie is actually showing the events happening in Kazakstan in 18 century and to me it looked much more ancient period of time.Like 9 -th or 10 -th century.

Another question ? Is this movie made by a real story ? In the beginning it does say so.

Ok,thanks. And actually The main hero - was the unifier of the Kazaks. I do find a lot of similarities between the Kazak and Bulgar war costumes and armours.

Ok,Thank you ! Well,The Hat he is wearing does remind me a lot of the Cuman hats, The Cumans and the Petchenegs/Patzinaks did passed trough the Actual Kazakstan region ,didn't they ? Similar clothings and military style. And actually his title -Batir was used also among the Bulgars too. For example : Batir,Bagain,Bagatur were titles for diferent warlords in the Ancient steppe world of the Bulgars and other turkic tribes. Nomad is a pretty good movie !

Hi Asparuh, Yes, Kazakh and Kyrgyz Qalpaq hats look quite similar to the hats worn by the 11th-13th century Cumans, as depicted in various European (mostly Hungarian) artwork from that time. Indeed

I actually believe that those hats are just further Steppe fashion development of Scythian pointy hats like in the picture: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tigraxauda.jpg ;D Though, even later Turks and even Mongols had pointy hats almost exactly similar with the Scythian ones.

Ok,Thank you Guys,
Seems like all this thing going on around these steppe hats have something to do with the Scythians. The Hats of the Royal Scythians were quite big.The Bulgar hats looked more Hunnish and Tatar like. I am working on a projects of military clothing and armours. Will post it firther on in the appropriate topic.

Yes, contrary to today's popular image of steppe nomads with just short fur hats, tall hats were quite popular among the Scythians-Saka, Asian Huns, Gokturks, Qypchaqs-Cumans and Mongols. Very tall hats were worn by queens as wells.
