please no reposts aynur. also Mughals are not for this thread, only Steppe people who also live on the Steppe. Very nice, I haven't seen most one of them before. Do you know from which books they are? the first one (Seljuqs) is from a book called "The Crusades", don't know about the others. said book also includes other nice illustrations. i assumed so, but because of the masked helmet it also could have been a Golden Horde ruler. also first time i've seen a Jurchen with a face-mask helmet.

Ach so, I once saw that book's purchasing page, it's published in Russia. I think I should acquire the book one day, has some nice illustrations.

I think I should acquire the book one day, has some nice illustrations. there's an english language version by a Spanish author i think, the illustrator is indeed a Russian. i'd recommend it, lots of nice illustrations, including one of Baybars that i particularly like.

The question that makes me wonder is "Are those seen on the pictures their daily clothing? or are they only been worn on special occasions like battles or such?"

Depends on situation I guess. Though we know that steppe peoples often used armor, mostly lamellar, during the battles.
