i assumed so, but because of the masked helmet it also could have been a Golden Horde ruler. also first time i've seen a Jurchen with a face-mask helmet.

there's an english language version by a Spanish author i think, the illustrator is indeed a Russian. i'd recommend it, lots of nice illustrations, including one of Baybars that i particularly like.

The question that makes me wonder is "Are those seen on the pictures their daily clothing? or are they only been worn on special occasions like battles or such?"

Depends on situation I guess. Though we know that steppe peoples often used armor, mostly lamellar, during the battles.
