Hi,I know this picture of Arpad,.I saw it for the first time in my journey in Hungary in 2008.This was right after King Simeon I of Bulgaria pushed them westwards of North - Dobrudja and today´s Ukraine lands where they were previously settled around 9-10 century.Arpad led the Hungarians to their actual settlement-Panonnia plains. The Hungarians were slightly more Nomads than Bulgars for instance, because in 10-th century the Bulgarian Kingdom has already well-organized army.

Ganbat IS the concept artist for M&B / Taleworlds company now! He's very popular among the fans too, but no one knows he's Mongol for some reason Funny thing was when M&B finally was finished, the new publisher Paradox commission another artist to do the cover-art, and it turned out like this: www.amazon.co.uk/Paradox-Mount-Blade-PC-CD/dp/B001BTPRLG/ref=sr_1_1?s=gateway&ie=UTF8&qid=1285839928&sr=8-1Heh, and fans unrelentlessly flamed the poor dude's artwork and called the cover-art dude "Frodogorn" (Mix of Frodo / Aragorn from lord of the rings lol - funniest thing ever). I felt so sorry for the new artist really heh. Some fans even made replacement cover-arts using Ganbat's artwork attempting to persuade Armagan to drop Paradox's artist and go with Ganbat all the way, and it definitely looked better too. But it was too late for the release. But it looks like Paradox has learned... ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81Q4Bd3xoyS._AA1500_.jpgGanbat wins again!

It seems like i am totally swept by this Ganbat. My purpose was not to compare with him,Just put my works here.Funny how many people think that the artist is good by using a PC and the new 3D programs. But i still believe in the hand made renderings and normal drawings.

And also These Ganbat drawings...on some of them these Mongols look like indians. I have Art Course degree and when i learn the 3D programs, maybe i can do even better works.

Heh well it was Paradox's job as the publisher to market the product, and to them they wanted a "flashy cover-art" so the game doesn't 'look' like a budget production, and can actually catch some eyes in store lol! Hand made drawings I guess, to them, aren't money makers. The result... was of course, the Frodogorn! ;D Which is probably the one ONLY piece of artwork I've ever seen in my life that under-went SO MUCH resentment! ;D So it seems at least in this case, hand-made/normal drawings will still have a place over 3D in the present and future. And yes, Ganbat doesn't draw just steppe warriors, he also draws Native American warriors and Nordic warriors (Also other stuff, even space ninjas! Or whatever lol). Examples: (Vikings - Screenshot from Warband) Ganbat seems to be improving a lot especially in the detail/polishing department. (Pirates) (Earlier Work/Sketches/Native Americans/Samurai/etc) More here: www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=62076HUGE thread there, and if you want anymore, you may have to visit Ulaanbaatar ;D Personally I also reckon you should stick to normal drawings too, even if you plan to work in the field. As the tale of Frodogorn proves; 3D isn't always better then traditional drawings ;D
