I have not seen this topic discussed on the forum I think. What do we think about Christianity as a growing religion on Steppe countries? For example I take Mongolia. Christianity is a growing religion for many Mongols because they have full religion freedom there now. Why is this? I see many Western people who go to Mongolia to spread word about God. Do you think it is good to share story's of Christian bible in Steppe countries? I think it's not very good. Of course every person can choose for himself. No problems for that! But I think it is easy for some Christians to visit weaker countries to spread word about Christian bible and stories... It's easy for some people to believe in such God and how it can help them to get strong. But I think it is wrong and not good. It's very sad if Christian people believe that Buddhist is poor and weak, and Christian will make them rich. Please take look at this video. 'From Genghis Khan to God'This is very sad story how Buddhism is slowly losing faith. Especially for young generation. They think it's new and Western (which they think is good progress), but they are easy target.... Very sad........... Do you have examples of other Christianity in Steppe countries?

well, Buddhism is not native to Mongolia either. Do you know why Mongols joined Buddism! By shamanism our life goal was to reach Ogtorgui=Ogt orgui =means emptyness, translated as SPACE! This pic shows someone is flying over humans, animals...etc to stars. Buddism`s goal is to know Hooson chanar=Emptyness translated as Enlightenment. It seemed the goal is not changed. Then Communism and atheism came! The goal of Communism was to conquer the world and space. It seemed the goal is still not changed! ;D Then democracy and Cristianity came! The goal is to serve the lord, spread his word, wait for judgment day! You see the goal is changed!

well, Buddhism is not native to Mongolia either. Mongolian Buddhim is not "pure" Buddhism rather. It's rather Lamaism. A set of some Buddhism doctrines very heavily mixed with the Tibetian Bon "black religion" which is in fact very close to traditional Mongolian Shamanism.

I like how it is put in the Secret History (iirc). Each religion is like the different fingers, but they all are attached to the same hand. This is somewhat how the Jains see the world too, through the allegory of the blind men touching an elephant. We can only ever know one part of the whole through our experience.
About modern Christian missions on the steppes, I don't know the facts of the issue, but my perception is that it is done mostly by fundamentalist Christian groups with their literal interpretations of the Bible. In Tuva after the fall of Communism the shamans have organized into associations and I suspect it was done as a way to combat the invasion of foreign missionaries.
