How and when did you start being interested in Steppe-Central Asian history?
I remember, it started when I was in the first and second grades of the elementary school (1991-1992). My father had bought some comics about the Blue Turks and Uyghurs and by the age of 7, I had learnt lots of things about the Blue Turks, Uyghurs, Toquz Oghuz, Chinese, Turgish, Qyrghyz, etc ;D

well, I was 6-7 living in Kars. My father taught me an anthem which had the lines:
Kur Şad'ın narasiyla indik Tanridagindan Ruhumuzu tattirdik Orkun'un kaynagindan Bu kaynaktan icenin yürekleri tunç olur Türk'e kefen bicenin olumu korkunç olur... (With the shout of Kur Shad, we walked down Khan Tengri, Our soul had a taste from Orkhun's source, A man who drinks from that source has a bronze heart, A man who thinks to kill a Turk, has a scary end.)
That was the first time I thought about Khan Tengri, Orkhun, C.Asia, my history, ancestors...

Well, I have been many years Finnish National Socialist/Nationalist and naturally I have always been interesting of original Finnish culture and religion and way of life.
I have been intersting about Steppes since I noticed the next fact:
"Finland is not frontline of Europe against east, but it is frontline of Turan against west. genetics, culture and many other things proves that".
I have also read alot about Genghis, Ungern, Timur, Attila etc...
"Western civilization and russian vodka-syphilis culture tries to destroy the most noble human-type, the Nomad"
-Kai Donner-
Kai Donner was Finn whose family many hundreds years ago adopted swedish names and habbits, but he hated those and wanted to be Nomad.

When I was a teenager I saw a documentary about the Mongol empire on TV and started reading more about Mongols and other steppe peoples. And because steppe people touched so many other cultures if you study steppe people you learn about a lot of other cultures too.

"golden history book of turks" what is that man? I think I had heard about that very very long time ago, I forgot. Make me remember. It was an un-scientific popular history encyclopedia made in the 1980s about Turkic history. When I was a kid, it was fascinating though ;D

well, my interest started with the computer game Age of Empires II after playing the Chingis Khan campaign. i was very impressed by the life of the Great Khan and started to collect more info on him and then gradually expanded to all the Steppe. i think Steppe way of life is way superior to sedentary life in houses and working on fields. apart from Chingis Khan and his Mongols i also really love Cossacks of Ukraine & Russia. however, like true Steppe people i'm completely anti-nationalistic or against any ethnicity or religion. Steppe peopel always welcomed those who wnated to join their way of life, just look at Hun or XiongNu empires who were mulit-ethncial, just like Mongols who included numerous Turks or Magyars who were Finno-Ugrian but also included Turks. not to mention Cossacks who were originally Tatar but included many runaways from all over Europe and Russia. in my opinion, everyone who is racially biased is not a true Nomad, it is against Nomad way of life.
