Nice Their clothes are indifferentiable from Turkic nomads. Their clothes are also wholly guessed at. Mind you, it's some educated guesses, but as you can see there's no cut drawn on the kaftans. For example, how were the sleeves cut and attached to the rest of the garment? Large details are still missing. Artists tend to borrow details from Gokturk clothes a bit like artists borrowed Ottoman details in famous old paintings of Arpad. Even more fuzzy are the women's clothes. And no one knows what their headgear actually looked like. But I do agree, nice drawing.

Excellent image, Asparuh! When I was on vacation in Hungary I visited the National Ethnographic Museum in Budapest. I saw many photographs on display that were taken of ethnic Hungarians/Magyars who lived in Eastern Hungary on the "Puszta" - "Great Plain/Steppe" during the late 1800's. They were all wearing cloths just like the ones in the image you submitted. To me they look very similar to Ottoman Turks in other images I've seen. However, they also look like Mongolians I've seen in other images. The Hungarians/Magyars are still making and wearing clothing like this today! In fact, when I was in Budapest I almost purchased a coat for my wife that looked exactly like the red one in the image that the lady on the right is wearing. However, it's color was tan.

A couple of the colour images are from 14th c Persian manuscripts and others are 15th c. The line drawings are of 8th c frescos.

The first nine pictures are 7th-8th century Göktürks. The rest are 13th-15th centuries Seljuk-Turkoman-Persian miniatures and tiles.

This map is very interesting. There are several interpretations of the Magyar migration routes. This one actually is showing their ways near to the country of Old Great Bulgaria of Khan Kubrat. So,atually the Magyars passed just north and carried on west of the Bulgars. We always have lived in vecinity so that doesn't surprised me Here is one map i have :
