I don't know, after all he is the one who was defeated by Selîm I of the Ottomans. He lost the battle of Ridâniye and his brave last stand at Al-Qâhire (Cairo) didn't halt the Ottoman invasion.

I see most of the sultans!!! But who can say from who did it all started? You missed one person! Even Sultan Beibars praised that person. The muslim world should know who was the first and the last ever in history. That person started the legacy of mamluks sultans. Saved the Egypt from crusaders and kept mamluk generals under one roof! Tell me who was that person???

What what but I never expected that you don't know her! From her it all started! Mamluk generals feared her and gave their vote to kill her. You should know her! First mamluk sultans lived short because of her!!!

Shadzhar Ad-Durr. Translatets as the queen of the land Durr. Don't know where it is. She was a noble blood. I like her! Read whatever I could find about her, but thats not enough for me. All I read makes me want to have that kind of woman as my wife. Independent, Intelligent, burning in anger, beautiful and ready to sacrifice everything for the sake of higher things than me, children and even her life. Looks funny but she was like that. Its sad to know that people forget the ones who brought changes into their lives! I must agree that muslims and christians don't like women, especialy when they achive something big while the religion consider women as the devil being.
