I wonder if there were any migrations of Steppe-origined peoples into Japan in history. Does anyone know something about this?

Modern Japan has four different-type of people:
Paleo-Siberians (Like Ainus), Tungoids (Altaic origin), Those who are near of Chinese and then Polynesian-origin.

Ah guys please, I do not want to read anything about this Mu thing in this forum Records of Chinese Wei Chi(220-265) dynasty. Wa ppl(=japanese) live in many little islands which are located in eastern & south eastern seas, from Tai-Fang region. There are about/over 100 clans. First Wa ambassador came in Han dynasty. Now there are more than 30 clans communicating with us.(=my translation from history book(=don`t remember the name) was in Mongolian Japs were called (by chinese) Wa not Mu!. Japs didn`t liked it so them named themselves Nippon.

BTW: One Japanese told me that they had caste-system too concerning those race-types, for example Samurais were all Altaic origin.

The Koreans are indeed probably connacted to the Altaic peoples. Their language has many similarities with Altaic languages and their ancient culture has many elements from the culture of the steppes. They are probably of Tungusic origin, as I guess. I do not know about any Turkic groups with the name Ainu in the Chaghatay Branch
