Yep, 3rd crusade is the Richard v. Saladin one.
4th crusade was a big blunder, and the crusaders attacked and captured Constantinople.
The fifth and onwards crusades all targeted Egypt in some way or another and not Jerusalem. (There are seven, eight or nine crusades altogether depending on who you ask).

I have to disagree about shields. They were painted and such, true, but they were rarely handed down because of the materials they were made of. They didnt last. They would get hacked or full of arrows and disposed of. Metal shields may have been able to be passed down but they didnt come into the picture until a lot later.

Well... YES! ;D "Metal shields" sounds expensive! Because by old Mongol way : 1kg Iron = 1 kg gold ;D -ofcourse 1kg iron is bigger than 1kg gold. ;D Silver was most expensive metal.

4th Crusade was vs Byzantium btw Was that even a crusade? More like: Venetians: "We must pass into your city of Constantinople to cross over to the Holy Land" Byzantine: "Urm... Ok" Venetians enter the city, pickpocket a few goods here and there... Venetians: "Oh btw, guess what?" Byzantine: "What?" Venetians: "We're staying!" Byzantine: "WHAT?" And pretty much that was the fourth crusade ;D
