R1b-M343 is prevalent among Oghuz Turk, possibly of Cimmerian-Tocharian lineage

Perhaps because of Soghdian mixture. Mahmud of Kashghar tells us that the Oghuz and Soghdians were mixing with each other at the banks of River Jaxartes during the 11th century.

Wow, very interesting stuff. Reading up more on the graves themselves I found out that one of the coffins was made of cinnamon wood from trees that mainly grow in southeast Asia, which means it must've been a fancy imported coffin. There was also a lot of gold, which definitely points to these being important people. The graves were found in 2004 and no further graves have been found nearby since, so I guess these aren't connected to the major burial ground that contains all the big names. What a find that will be (if its ever found)
