Hi all
I've posted on here before asking for advice on certain topics. I've seen new posts recently, which has reminded me that people might be interested in why I've been doing this.
I'm in the process of writing a fantasy story. It's a fictional story (so no magicians or wizards) set in an alternative-universe Europe. The only real fantasy change is that the climate is far cooler than today (though not quite an ice age), so most of the continent is covered in steppe as opposed to forest. This puts the nomadic tribes who live there at a huge advantage compared to the settled empire, which clings to areas of the middle east and southern Europe. I've had a huge fascination with nomads since I first played Rome Total War (I'll be honest lol!) and I've done a great deal of research on all sorts of nomadic people to try and accurately work out what the cultures of the people would be like and how they could live, but I can only do so much. As I write more I find that I need more questions answered (for example population densities and migration patterns). If anyone's interested in helping with a few things as and when they arise that could be really helpful: knowing the context of what I'm talking about and why could help people get a better idea of what I'm looking out for. And maybe if people are interested I could receive suggestions about things I've never even thought of.
