What was the historical significance and historical context of the Mongol Empire?
I've been trying to figure this out for my mid-term coming up..all help is appreciated. thanks in advance.

Well, you can start off with Jack Weatherford's book "Genghis Khan and the making of the modern world" despite quite a few errors he made in it. It's a great stepping stone in my opinion for beginners.

EDIT: Come to think of it actually, that book for your mid-term should be perfect.

However... just curious, which country are you in? Reason I ask is because some countries aren't exactly very happy when anything positive is said about Mongols. Much safer for your grades if you defame us instead if that's the case.
