I wonder how bumin ashina khagan could take power from their master the juan jaun, how can a little tribe like the ashinas defeat a whole confederation like juan juan?

Just before Bumïn attacked the Rou-ran 柔然, the Rou-ran Empire was deeply shaken by the rebellion of the Tie-le 鐵勒 (*Tägräg / *Tiräk) tribes. The empire was so weak that the qaġan of the Rou-ran had to ask for Bumïn's help. Bumïn eventually attacked the Tie-le and after defeating them, merged their manpower to his own forces. With the Rou-ran becoming even weaker, and with the Gokturks becoming even more powerful, the Gokturks crushed the Rou-ran with relative easiness. We should also note that the Rou-ran Empire had already weakened from their constant wars with the Tabġač (Tuo-ba 拓跋) in northern China, but except some small raids, the Gokturks didn't get involved with wars in China, so they could slowly grow their power.

No, they were not. There are no records of such an event.
