Yes indeed. Most of the people who like him like him because they believe he was of Turkic origin. Man, we Turks are strange people. Most of us hate him because of his devastations on Islamic lands, the rest of us like him because we believe he was of Turkic origin. People like me who admire and like him while being aware of the fact that he was a Mongol are so few in Turkey ;D

Perhaps, every nation wants Chinggis to be one of them except the Africans ;D . The Chinese claim that Chinggis was a Chinese, then there are the Koreans, and the Japanese, now the Russians, and the Turkler . I'm so glad that the Americans can't claim that Chinggis was a Yankee. He was a great warrior and a brilliant leader and changed the world history, that's why we all like him in the heart no matter what we are of different nations .

Whatever his ethnicity was, he was the Chosen One to unite the nomads and rule the World with justice.

The Japanese also have a legend that claims Genghis was Japanese. It's all just nationalistic silliness. Temujin was Mongolian. There's no evidence to dispute this whatsoever . I saw a photo of a statue of Genghis Khan in a recent issue of National Geographic and the image of the face looked very much like that of my own father who is half Japanese.

this topic is weird man whats the real form of the qagan what was he somekind of sub or uberhuman he was a man of mongolian descent. The nomads have alot of tribes who are ethnicly one group but culturaly belong to one or liguisticly. Only culture & costums count.
So I don't know because modernday turks aren't the Turks they used to be and the same goes for mongolians.
He wasan altaic steppe nomad(what ever that means)

cijaw mis-typed the quotation code so I corrected it Dear Atabeg Shad, this thread is about the lingual form of the title of Genghis Khan, which we have seen that it was Chinggis Khan.
