Hi everyone,
I am a Turkish person who is very interessted in history and I try to read about my ancestors like the Xiongnu and Hunnic people. I am more interessted in the "oldest" empires.
But where can I read or find any information about their culture and traditions?
Because for example the Turkey of today has more Arabic/Islamic way of live then any Turkishness(Turanian). Perhaps im wrong but I would like

Hi turan4u, You can check Bahaeddin Ögel's 9-volume book Türk Kültür Tarihine Giriş ("Introduction to Turkic Cultural History"): www.kygm.gov.tr/TR,782/turk-kultur-tarihine-giris-9-cilt-4-baski.html His single-volume book İslamiyetten Önce Türk Kültür Tarihi ("Pre-Islamic Turkic Cultural History") is also a very useful book, but it focuses more on archaeological materials contrary to the 9-volume book which includes many materials acquired from written historical sources: www.ttk.gov.tr/index.php?Page=Yayinlar&KitapNo=755

Thank you for the quick answer Ihsan.
I will check them out for sure. Thank you!
Sadly I cant find any solid information on the internet nor library. Maybe because I dont live in a Turkish/Asiatic country.

So I need to read about Tengriism? But wasnt that just a Mongolic thing? I am more interessted in the Xiongnu and even before that.
Like what was the first "thing". Its very difficult to find any information about it on the internet really.

Unfortunately I don't remember how I found it. I've had it bookmarked for years.
You could always try Googling specific Turkic states and tribes from the past like the Gokturks, Uyghurs, Seljuqs, Qarluqs, Kyrgyz, etc. Although I'm not sure what the restrictions might be on your local internet. Every country has it's own rules.
