I enjoyed that one clip more than the whole Mongol movie.

Actually it's not the trailer of the movie, it's not a trailer at all Look what the uploader wrote in the description: "Mongolian warriors leader attack some video stuff i made it ...thank you, but this video is only short video its nothing to do with Mongol movie, i just wanted to pay attention for it! Sorry 4 disappointed." The footage is from an older production which I haven't watched yet, but would like to Nice vid anyway, thanks for sharing.

Oh yeah, I knew it wasn't from the makers of Mongol because it actually looked historically accurate

Thank you Mr Ihsan.
You mean I was duped into believing it as Mongol 2 trailer? That's why I was wondering why the portrayal of Chinggis Khaan in the trailer looked more genuine than the first series of Mongol movie. That's explain the absence of the Japanese actor Tadanobu Asano.
Anyway, the soundtrack is nice. ;D

Some of it looks like footage from a Discovery or History channel production.

Maybe it's the BBC documentary.

I read the general outline of the script for Mongol 2 and, unfortunately, it sucked :-(

Well. It was just a one paragraph outline that I found on the website of Bodrov's company. The plot is that Genghis khan is old and he has a dream where Jamuqa kills him or something then he becomes mute and there is only a kid who is Jamuqa's son (?) who can communicate with him by some supernatural means. :-(
I don't know, I didn't like the plot and all the pervesities of Mongol 1, but I believe there still were some good visual scenes and some acting was good. And, at least, Bodrov should have a credit for popolarization of the Steppe history.
But the stuff I read about Mongol 2, just makes me very sad. I'm sure there could be plenty of very interesting scripts that he could use to create the sequel.
And BTW he also said that Mongol 2 will be the last movie.
But now he is also working on Beybars movie, with the sponsorship of Kazakhstan, I suppose.

Uh oh, I'm sure the 2nd movie will suck too Good thing is that, at least he won't be doing the 3rd one What, a Baybars movie?

Yeah, back in 1980th, Kazakhs made a move about Beybars (in cooperation with Egypt) that I, as a kid at that time, thought was very cool. But, now it looks like they want to make a "modern" version of it.
