Barulas (Barlas) was a Mongol tribe, not Turkic. Back in the 14th century, the name Turk was used for all Altaic peoples.

but Barulas is a Mongol tribe, there is no reason to make him more Turkic, it doesn't matter. No it is not. Barlas tribe one of those tribes which intermarried to Turkic tribes and acquired a Turkic identity. They were no more Mongols but just Turks.

They were a Turkified Mongol tribe They were Mongol in origin but Turkic in culture.

actually, there are 17,000 kyrgyzs are living in chichihar of heilongjiang province in china. also more than 120,000 "Jian clan" uighurs living in taoyuan uighur autonomous county of hunan province. Mr. jianbaozan was Maozedong's history teacher in Hunan normal school. he was the first man who made the systematic theory for 5000 years history of china.
