Does the hair of blonde Mongolians turn darker after puberty? It is a serious question. My hair used to be very very blonde when I was a little girl. Now it is a light brown, although I still think of myself as a blonde. The same thing happened to my mom and my husband. They have photos from when they were young with blonde hair. My mom's hair is quite a dark brown now.

My hair was also quite lighter, but it became darker when I grew up.

In my case my hair was reddish/light brown when I was a kid, it got darker during teens so it's quite possible

Heh in Australia as a child, I got accused of being Japanese as a kid because many Japanese do dye their hair all sorts of colors. Because my hair was natural, I stood out in school like a sore eye. So in a way, I'm glad that phase passed and my hair finally fits in society.

My grandfather was a Lama! So his stories must be related with Buddism -right!? But this story about blonde demons is unique!!! It is only about Mongols. There is nothing about Tibetians or Indians=We took buddism mainly from Tibetians. The Demon Ad-ZetiGer is pure Mongol god with pure Mongol name!.(Ad-ZetiGer=Disliked Zeti who lives in a Ger). He created blonde demons by stealing babies. Well... a lot of Mongol families including me ;D have blonde babies. He took beautiful & clean ones! That`s why these demons called themselves Clean=Pure=Holy =has one meaning. Still Mongols will not call their children pretty or handsome. Instead we use "Muhai"=ugly like Ja-Muhai. ;D If you always call your baby "My pretty!!!" demons will took it from you! Those taken blonde children stayed blonde. I heard about Janissaries! A question : Did turks practiced this long before...? I mean...it seems Mongols were under something that takes beautiful boys and turn them into demons(=demon is another way to say enemy or evil )

Yeah, we also have the same belief. It is believed that bad spirits can take away new-born babies. That's why sometimes people give weird names such as Satılmış (Satïlmïš) meaning "Sold" or as Atsız/Adsız (Atsïz/Adsïz) meaning "With no name", in order to have the kids look worthless for the bad spirits.
The Janissaries don't have anything to do with this belief, it's a version of an old military practice which has been around for several centuries already (starting from the Abbasid Caliphate in the 9th-century).

We have that belief too amongst Finns and Saamis.
Stories tells that Maahinen or Ulda can change a baby.

This naming practice was also apparently used by Hungarians. I can't remember right now where I read that at, but I haven't found any explanation for why it is believed this was a practice used by Magyars so currently it is unverified. On a related note, I have a book of Hungarian folk tales and in one of them the main character is called "Nemtudomka" (Know-Nothing. lit. "I don't know" plus diminutive) because that's the only thing he would say when anyone talks to him.

For the early indo-iranians although the fairness, blondness or being tall weren't necessarily dominant but it could be considered as a marker. In my family especially from maternal side, people tend to have blond or brown hair with mostly blue or green eyes along with tall physics for generations.

I didnt claimed they were. But the point is there were for sure blonds included amongst them according to what we know so far. And there are also blonds out here in former Iranian lands. And Germans as west indo-european branch and Iranians as east indo-european branch are linguistically, culturally related unlike some people said, and talking about blond Aryans has nothing to do with being a Nazist or racist. Well not living those days how can you say "Most aryans in world were not ever blondes, and aryans have no connections with germans, btw."? Today in Iran you can see blue-eyed blondes. But the thing to remember is that "Aryans" correctly refers to a language group, the Indo-Europeans, of which the Indo-Iranians are the eastern branch. We also have a slew of "Aryans" in India, although few are blonde. Many Uhgurs are blonde, although Turkic-speaking. Listen to the director-writer commentary in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon by James Shamus as he talks about the Uhgur exta with the light brown hair as the "white guy." The Alanic tribe of Roxolani meant "light Alani," and we see the same inference in Roxanne/Rhokhshan, "the fair one" who married Alexander the Great. She was a Bactrian (Indo-Iranian) and the daughter of the defeated chieftain Oxartes. And last ( ) we have the "Arians," who were a heritic Christian sect until the end of the 6th century. Probably some of them were also blondes, especially since the Alans and Goths turned to that religion. Alanus PS: I'm white-haired
