Our helmets didn't obstuct vision much, and tuckin the lance is easier in my opinion then trying to aim, pull back, and shoot a bow from horseback. Besides, if all else fails it's always easier to just swing a mace lol ;D

Think of a arrow-rain Yes indeed - once I read in an Islamic source (sorry, don't remember which one, and too lazy to find it out now ) that a combined Magyar and Pechenek army crushed a Roman (Byzantine) army entirely by raining arrows near a town on the western coastline of the Black Sea. However, I could not locate neither the city nor date the battle while I was reading it

yeah it must be the most affective thing, but can it be counted in weapons? Well... These weapons of mass destruction are only in fairy tales. But it gives a clue that our ancestors dreamed about such weapons.

our anchestors thought many things to kill and made innocent things into killer weapons lol ;D for example gunpowder: chineese used it for celebrations than a steppe man came and said "hey if that thing can explode, it must be capable to kill people" so the gunpowder was on battlefields lol ;D

yeah it must be the most affective thing, but can it be counted in weapons? Yes, because there are records of Yada stones used in battles as a weapon to distrupt enemy armies.

Yes, I remember something like that. Even the Shâhnâme depicts such an event.

Personally my favourite weapon is my fists and feet. i would rather have a duel without weapons. Not that i can't use them but becuase my Arab-mixed-mongol ancestry dictates that he who can fight an enemy without weapons in ritual combat is the superior warrior. Also if i can capture an enemy by battering him i can hold him ransom! Being a nomadic tribesman has its advantages, also martial arts were practised by many tribes and nations a soldier without his weapon is ussually powerless. You try to steal my sabre and i'll throttle you! That goes for my own side as well! Basically i can kill enemy soldiers with weapons but what if my drunken brother tries to usurp me after dinner. I can't kill him he's my right hand man on the battlefield he's usefull if i kill him not only will i lose brother but a popular soldier so if i can knock him out with a good right cross to his chin he'll live but he will still learn not to tangle with me. Being a brute has it's advantages both on and off the field of battle!
