I don't know what the Italian cavalry charged in Russia may a herd of cows of some kolhoz named after comrade Stalin. Scaring poor cows to death was lately portrayed by Mussolini's propaganda as a great cavalry victory over the Red Army , I assume. ;D

Well, Häme Cavalry defeated Russians many times in Winter War and after Finnish Civil War, they continued war in Karelia. As a German, you might remember Hakkapeliittas too.

Quite interesting thread. I think 20th centruy was the longest century for Russians. Imagine that A babushka born in 1914 and died in 1994. She had three different passports Must be quite traumatic I guess
