from what i know: Chionites are also known as Kidarites and Red Huns even though there is a possibility they were the same as the White Huns (H)Ephtalites.

Unfortunately, my knowledge on them is very small, so I can not provide you with useful links, as I don't have any Actually, my level of knowledge on that period of Turkistan (Central Asia) is very vague in general Most of my studies and readings were about 6th-13th (or more specifially, 6th-10th) centuries. I'm also very weak at post-Mongol history of Turkistan.

theres not many info on them anyways, hence the many speculations. the only thing that is known that one of their rulers allied hismelf to the Sassanian ruler and they fought togehter with a contingent of Red Huns in Mesopotamia against Arab vassal cities of the easter Romans in sieges. i would need to look up the info again, its been a while when i last studied this period.
