These answers are what I think and have heard, so if I'm wrong, I would like it if someone would let me know. 1) Afghans are Persians, like ethnic Iranians and Tajiks. Persians originated from around the same area as Turks did. While the Persians migrated into Tajikistan and Iran they also migrated into Afghanistan. 2) It is thought that they do since they both claim ancestry from the Aryan race, but I think they're different and it is just a coinsidence that they have the same name for their race, Aryan. 3) I don't know this answer for sure but I will guess and say that they are also from Siberia and Central Asia and have just mixed with the Spaniards more. They fought them because while the Native Americans were in the Americas, after thousands of years seperated from their Asian ancestors they forgot where the came from and gained their own identity. Therefore, as far as they knew they weren't fighting their own people. 4) Ask Hitler. 5) I'd attempt to answer this if I know what Qoqaz meant. 6) Arabs and Jews are related? If you're reffering to Israilies, they are Arabs, Judaism is a religion, not a race or ethnicity. Turks are related to Mongols and South Asians are South Asians, they're all related to eachother. 7) It probably is true that the Japanese, Koreans and Han are related, I would go with this theory before any other. Some Linguists and Historians try to put Japanese and Koreans in the same group with Turks and Mongols, but the similarities are very insignificant.

There are Iranic and Turkic peoples living in Afghanistan. Uzbeks and Turkmens are Turkic, the Pashtuns are Iranic, the Hazara are Iranified Mongols. The Indo-European Language Family is divided into two parts: Indo-Aryan and European. Indo-Aryan includes Iranian and Indian languages (not all Indians) whereas European includes Slavic, Germanic, Baltic, Celtic, Latin, Greek and Albanian languages. All the Native Americans are from Siberia. The Caucasian peoples and Russians have nothing to do with each other. Don't know. The Japanese, Koreans, Han, Mongols, Tungus, most Turkics, etc all belong to the Mongoloid race. No Hebrews aren't Arabic, they're Semitic.

Dear Feramez211: Wonderful questions. Race has always fascinated me, so please bear with my longwinded spiel, I don't mean to sound haughty. Ignore me if race is important to you. Race, language, ethnicity. A tangled web indeed. Since biologically all humans are EXACTLY the same, human races are no different than breeds of horses. If you would like to trace the paths of humanity's spread across the globe, and follow the specific routes of all the peoples you mentioned, you might want to check out www5.nationalgeographic.com/genographic/, the Genographic Project of National Geographic. Interactive maps show the spread of all the human haplotypes from 1 million years ago to today. All your questions about related ethnic populations are answered there, though it will require some digging on your part. For example, Native Americans have several different genetic strains, the Siberian being the greatest, but there are also significant non-Siberian markers. The entire history of human migration into the Americas is currently in turmoil (human footprints were just found in volcanic ash in Mexico that date far earlier than the Siberian migration, for example; some scholars think human migrations in the Ice Age followed the iceshelf-coasts leaving their records hidden when the sea levels rose). The DNA records for the peoples of Central Asia should help sort out much that has been lost in the swirls of the Steppe's unrecorded history -- relations between Persians, Tajiks, Turks, etc. However, ethnicity alone hardly tells the story. It is now thought that only about 30,000 Anglo-Saxons "conquered" Britain's million or so Celtics; rather than a violent population extinction and replacement, it was mostly a social-economic takeover. (Indeed, genetics show that 80% of modern Britain's population dates all the way back to the first Ice Age immigrants!) Thus, a small conquering group can either impose its own culture on its subjects, or the conquering elite may wholly adopt their subjugated's culture; or some combination thereof (and the history of the Steppes surely provides examples of all three variants). Genetic lineage is only part of a people's makeup; to prism history through the distorting lens of race is misleading at best, self-serving at worst, and intellectually dishonest. A "people" is made up of genetics, culture, language, customs, religion, and history. Ethnolinguistic groups -- sharing lineage and language and history -- are often called races, and this really muddies up any thoughtful analysis of human history. The whole "Aryan" mess -- conflicting arguments that intermingle genetics, language, culture, and history -- epitomizes this. The Mexican-Apache example is revealing: one population was settled Catholic peasant-farmers descended from Mexican Indian peoples (both settled and nomadic) and Spanish colonizers, the other was nomadic shamanistic warrior-foragers who roamed wilderness deserts and mountains. Those differences far outweighed any DNA or "racial" connections -- links that the Mexicans and Apaches themselves would have had absolutely no idea about. There, I'm done. Sorry if I've blathered on like an idiot... Good luck with your inquiries!

Thanks, I'll check that out, have you seen the show on T.V. a few months ago called: 'The Journey Of Man'? It explains all the migration routes since the begining of time for humans. It was very interesting, they even compared the DNA of people from Central Asian and Native Americans, the results proved the Siberian origination theory. They even found an Uygur man in Kazakistan that has the purest DNA known to man today, his genes can be traced back into Kazakistan about 40,000yrs. ago.

Ihsan, I'll have to disagree with you, Aghans are Persians. Iranic, Tajik and Afghans are all Persians, they even speak the Persian language, each with their own dialect.

Dear Feramez211: The TV special was based on Spencer Wells' Genographic Project. Yes, I taped it. The website has all the specifics the show just touched on. Thanks! I found the following stats on Afghanistan, if it helps that question at all: the population is Pashtun 42%, Tajik 27%, Hazara 9%, Uzbek 9%, Aimak 4%, Turkmen 3%, Baloch 2%, other 4%. In languages, 50% speak Afghan Persian or Dari, and Pashtu 35%. Other languages include Turkic languages (primarily Uzbek and Turkmen) 11%, 30 minor languages (primarily Balochi and Pashai) 4%. Also a small number of ethnic minorities, primarily Sikhs and Hindus, speak Punjabi.
