Btw, there is a big diference between pork meat and boar meat, believe me! ;D What kind of diference? In taste, in quality, in fat etc. Those two are complitely different animals, with totally different habits.

Actually I read it in Erdoðan Aydýn's Nasýl Müslüman Olduk? (How did we become Muslim?) but the book itself is horrible in means of history methodology. I haven't seen it from a real historical source so of course I have a doubt on that fact. I will try to find some real sources.

I know Karaims and Gagauz Turks do not eat pork. Maybe, Karaims do not eat because, in Judaism eating pork is banned. But I do not know the exact reason for Gagauz Turks. Maybe, this is the influence of Muslim Turks.

Well it's not something he says because half of his book is made up of copy-pastes from other works ;D

I would like to add here a bit. 1) In central asia Kazakh didn't eat meat because as it was pointed before its difficult to keep pigs if your whole life is moving from pasture to pasture and oing to war with other tribes. 2) Our body is not adopt to fat food(pig meat). It makes us feel heavy and then sick. Alchogol is also doesn't fit our belly. Most of Kazakh get drunk easily and we start to act like beast. (Same for most of Mongols I belive) Boar meat is acceptable but first you must kill it. Its very dangerous animal in Kazakhstan. (An adult board can withstand heavy fire from a shotgun20" and can turnover Hummer) The best time to hunt boar is winter when its weak and easy to truck without getting ambust by it. Boar consist from musles and bones.

I do not know port eating, but drinking alchohol has always been an unbreakable part of the cultures of Steppe peoples.

Also, People often let their dogs to do the job by them selves. It makes them a good hunting dog - it is a sort of training. And yes.. it is very hard to kill an adult wild boar, but only because he can run surprisingly fast. It becomes dangerous only when wounded!

Qımız is a very light alcoholic beverage. You can hardly "get drunk" by drinking qımız.

But Qara (Black) Qïmïz is a much harder drink, as I read. Indeed I drank Aq (White) Qïmïz several times but I did not get drunk from it
