Map of Republic of Ireland & Norhern Ireland(belongs to UK) The first Irish came to Ireland in the time of 6000 B.C. from Europe. Then Celts came in 400 B.C. from Gaal and founded Gal. St Patrick brought Christianizm to Ireland and Irish accepted this. Then Vikings attacked to Ireland from 975 A.D. to 1041 A.D. .We see Norms which came to Ireland in 1140 A.D. and by the help of conquering the most of Ireland Island they made their capital city Dublin. In 1534 Henry VIII started his idelogy of a strong British civilization.(Maybe it was main thought of UK)Firstly he tried to conquer Ireland in peaceful ways but he was not sucessful. He started making wars with Ireland. They resisted to England for near 3 centuries but by the cries Irish fell down.IN 1801 Ireland had to join England. In 1849-1849 Ireland was in a big crise so big emigrations started. The population of Ireland was 8 million before the crisis. But after crisis it was 6.5 million. After 1850's since the end of 19th century a middle rich Catholic group apperad which defended Ireland. In the begining of the 20th century a group called Sinn Fein( it means only us) started to plan wars against England for their Ireland Republic idelogy. Then some of the nationalist and idealist Irish founded IRA(Irish Republic Army) after The Paskalya Event in April,1916. They had large bearing gerilla wars against England by the leadership of their legend,Micheal Collins.David Lloyd tried to control Ireland by two parliaments. One of these was for the protestan Northern Ireland. One of these was for the catholic Southern Ireland(today's Republic of Ireland).English and North Ireland were both protestans.Because of this Northern Ireland accepted Lloyd's parliament. However the stubborn(The British still call them as stubborn) Southern Ireland did not accept Lloyd's parliament.Lloyd had to accept the freedom of Southern Ireland ;D They were called Republic of Ireland in 1921.The north part was in the UK's boards. However some Irish nationalist couldnot accept the division of their country. They could not accept the situation of their north boards staying with UK. So north and south started a war.It ended in 1925 but thet couldn't still agree.. In 1927 Da Valera joined William Cosgrave's government. In 1932 Da Valera became the leader of Ireland. It defend ideas against UK and protected his country from UK.Ireland did not join the second world war and Republic of Ireland was founded in 1949. Note:It is 04.50 A.M In Turkey so I need a sleep.I will make additions in the near future..(for ex. the relationship with IRA and Ottomans)

What does Sinn Hein mean?
Maybe we can also talk about how the French and the Germans supported the Irish in their struggle against the British.

Irelands history is very interesting in Europe, small country but big fighting spirit, thats what i like. you should also mention the "Wild Geese" who preffered entering the services of Spain, France and other countries to continue fighting England when their country was occupied by them. they also had a big show in the American Civil war. because i am largely of Celtic stock, since southern Germany was the homeland of Celts, i have also special sentiments for my blood-brothers. I also have Germanic genes but i am mostly Celtic in appearance (green eyes, freckles, red beard, fair skin etc). such appearance is very common where i live.

Also in the American Civil War. In the Battle of Fredericksburg scene of the movie Gods and Generals, there was a part when two Irish units from both armies were sent to fight against each other. That was a dramatic scene, really
