In my Turk forum a member asked about the Omay the Goddess. I know we had a topic about her in this forum and I thought it was in this topic but I can't find it. Could someone just provide some links or information about her here so I can copy it and put it in my forum's topic?

Umay (not Omay) was the female spirit (not goddess) which was believed to have protect the children and newly birth-given mothers. The full name was Ïduq Umay Ana (Iduk Umay Ana, sacred mother Umay). Mahmûd of Kâshghar mentions the name Umay with the meaning of placaenta. Umay might have been an originially non-Turkic element because there is no evidence prooving that her cult existed in the Asian Hun (Xiōngnú [Hsiung-nu]) 匈奴 period; the first mention of her dates to the Blue Turk (Gök Türk, Kök Türük, Tūjué [T'u-chüeh] 突厥) period.
