I'm looking for good (historically correct) plates of Tibetan early (VI-VIIIth century AD) heavy cavalrymen and cataphracts for a while now, but without any succes. That's why I would like to ask if somebody has plates of Tibetan cavalrymen.Maybe somebody can give me tips on where I can find good pictures or plates. Thanks. Greetings.

It doesn't matter that they are from another period.I'll be glad to see the pictures if it is possible. The reason I specifically asked for early cataphracts is that in this period they used lamellar armour which was made from leather. The difference with the iron lamellar armour (willow leaf iron armour)which the Tibetans later used, is that the leather lamellae in comparison with the iron lamellae from the willow leaf armour were not as narrow and much greater. The leather armour was also painted. I hoped(and still hope) to find more information (plates) concerning this early type of armour. Greetings

Nice pictures. Some info on the above mentioned leather armour. An example of such an armour was found at the Tibetan fort Miran. The lamellae are much squarer and resembling the laced-plate of the Qin and Han.Some lamellae curve to fit the throat or the arm-hole.They measure 6.3cm-12cm and perhaps were made of camel- skin laced with dogskin thongs. Greetings.

it should be noted that both show more or less the same, despite the comment they are all reconstructed from the photos taken in 1900 which Ihsan already posted above.
