By Shamanistic tradition it was forbitten to hit drums without purpose. (Drums must use only to call spirits) So U can`t find(=rare) any Mongolian traditional dance or song music which use drum. Do turks use drums in their song & dance? davul & zurana ;D but this is not realy Turkic it's common in Turkey but it's kurdish or armenian if I'm not mistaken

But didn't the Mongols also enjoyed drinking? And didn't Ögödei Qa'an died because of alchohol? Mongols still enjoy drinking. Did U know that most Mongolian vodkas named by dear/sacret names like "Burkhan-haldun" "Khar-Chinggis" "Chinggis" "Atilla" "Khaan"...etc. It means alcohol is very important for Mongols.

Look at the names of davul and zurna. They are Turkish names of aforementioned instruments. Davul comes form Persian Dohul, and Zurna comes from Persian Sûrney
Davul and Zurna are most probably Iranic music instruments (so also Kurdish) adopted by Turks which in interaction with Iranic people.
These Turks are Uzbeks Turkmens Azerbayjanis and Anatolian Turks. So we can assume that , yes Davul and Zurna are Kurdish.

I do not think that the kurds have the capacity to invent original music instruments. Let's say Semitic or Persian, rather than kurdish.
