I have no idea about it. ;D I saw it before and I thought that they were Land Spirits=Savdag. Land spirits are independant from Tengri, they are very powerful -makes plants to grow fast, control animals ..etc. They have many images, they are very short, maybe tallest one is 50 cm. They ride a wolf and hold snake. They are servents of Mother Earth. It looks like Alien or saint=human with bright head. Maybe it is the first images of holy-man or first inteligent human=direct descendant of Tengri. I don`t think that Tengri has arms & legs -I don`t think that he eat something or even walk.

Well in place we found them they looks like giants compare to people zho dance around them. Kazakh and Kyrgyz people call them as Tengri or Tengris soul. But the strange thing is that he is not the only one we can find on caves drawings. There are the figures of man shape beast with horns and animal hunting.

Humans are not so inteligent, so Tengri can show himself in human shape. So that humans not be afraid of him.

Back to shapes! Mongols believe that everything has top or head. /it was forbitten to put cup down side./ This head or top must be pointed to sky=heaven=Tengri. Mostly, the most pointed edges are considered as Top, -mountain tops are pointed, tree tops are pointed...etc. Look at this shape : Which side is top? -flat side can`t be the top. So common Mongol armors are made like this : (or it must be like this for a Tengrist -everything is going up, everything what to be close to heaven=Tengri).

As we talk about Tengri. I see we have a Tengrikut who is the Tengri worshiper. Could you tell us more about Tengrizm and comment on any of our mistakes. It would be bad if we will make you angry. For I am a new person to this religion. I only know it through books and old stories from elders who are not Tengri worshipers. Yeah.. Tengrikut! Share your ideas about Tengri right now! ;D

I found some thing intersting in Russian methology. Their was a god his name is something starts with P(Thunder) thats not important. He came from sky and tought people how to live. He told them about iron and he gave men a when they became arrogant the law or set of rules to live a happy life. One more thing he lived between humans for a long time. He was married to the goddess of Spring and his simbol was a circle with 6 arrow star in a middle. He was most beloved god because he helped people and he fought evil and send then down the earth. He was very humane allowing people to worship what they like best and he was pissed of if someone would treat bread (nan) bad.

Well I am not home yet but I found this picture on the web. It was taken from the Tamgaly. The legen say that it was made by the Great Khan when he was crossing the rive Ili. It could be false as that is the check point for one of the Silkroads so the picture could be older than we think. It was originaly on a face of the big rock but later something happened and the rock fell into a small pieces. (Original height of the rook was 5 store building) There are aslo a stone of all central steppies tribes tamga their and the stone with a big headed messenger or as one call them Tengi. I will get them later as soon as I can get my hands on them.

I think it is false legend/story. First. it is Buddist images. I don`t think that among 13th century Mongols were so many Buddists (maybe no Buddists at all!). Maybe Golden Tatars=Zurchins were Buddists.(In Mongolia everyone has own idea about Tengri. some Buddists say that it was will of Tengri that Buddism came to Mongolia.) Second. I think It is written in Tibetian!?. Tibetians were enemies. I don`t think 13th century Mongols knew Tibetian written lang. If it was true, maybe it would be written in Uighur or Uighur-Mongol. About Written language : Mongols have unique written languge. Maybe not so unique, but it is only written from top to down. Why? -"it is because of Mongol thinking" (many Mongols say it but can`t continue!) A Mongol thinking? I thought it was created by Uighur person!? -"Yes, But it has Mongol influence!" A Mongol influence? Where? -"It is written from top to down!. 13th century Mongols thought, why we need written lang? -To record our history & knowledge!. Mostly laws! 13th century Mongols belived that knowledge & orders are given from TOP=Tengri to down(from Tengri, kings & elders to humans, children & servents..etc) So this orders & knowledges must be written from top to down. Also it looks good!" Mongols script is thought to be the part of Mongolian Tengrism. It is called "Uighurjin Mongol bichig"="Uighur Mongol script". If U put it this way it looks like Uighur script : Mongol way : Standing script!
