Bor Chono, in Turkish we say 'Tanri', in Mongolian I think you say 'Tengeri'.

Bor Chono, in Turkish we say 'Tanri', in Mongolian I think you say 'Tengeri'. Ppl! Are who sure that your "Tanri" is "Tengeri"? TENGERI means "Sky". He is everywhere. He is the father-creator=Mind (mother creator is mother earth=Life). It is the one who made us to wear pointed hats, He is the TOP -everything has top. Sun & Moon & Stars are his sisters. -if he wish U can meet him only in mountain tops -he doesn`t enter into temples, he has no body, image...etc. Chinese kings claim that they are the "sons of heaven". In Monglian lang this is translated as "Tengeriin huu"="Son of Tengri". Mongols say "Teneg hun Tengertei ctsatsuu!"="Only stupid one is equal to Tengri!" He has no son or daughter. We all equal here -but some are chosen to be his messenger. The great khaan was "A messenger of Tengri" not "Son of Tengri". Imagine : Jesus met some Ancient Mongols Mongols : -Who are U? Jesus: -Don`t U see..! I am who I am, now I`m here. One Mongol : -He looks like Demon, look at his beard & yellow(=white, there is no human with white face) face. Get him! Jesus : -What are U doing!? I am a son of god!. Mongols : -ha ha ha... Mongol general : -leave him! -he is crazy.( ;D -sorry Joke) However there are 99 of them -I think Hurmasta is the most powerful one (it is because Mongols worship to it). Allah is also called "Allah Tengri". So what does "ALLAH" mean? Also there are some ATA Tengries, Girl Tengries..etc. |

Bor Chono, I'm sure than Tanri and Tengeri have the same meaning. Allah has a different meaning. Muslim Turks use Allah since they don't believe in Tanri anymore. You'll notice that a lot of Pan-Turkist Turks use Tanri instead of Allah, unless they're religious Muslims. I don't know if this came out cler or not, I just woke up so am a little sleepy still.

Old Turkic Teñri has become Tanrý in Anatolian Turkish. However, most of the Turkic dialects still use Teñri and Teñer/Teñger.

I think there was BIG difference between sedentary Arab world(Ancient Persia) & Steppe world(Ancient Nomads). I would like to know more about differences between Allah & Tanri -maybe something has stayed!. How U ppl stoped to belive? How is it feel like? Meybe U still belive in Tanri/Tenger!? -Not a joke! A REAL QUESTION!(Maybe not clear question for U) |

"Allah" is an arabic word for Tengri. I always been interested why Allah is called Tenger. In Mongolian lang "Allah Tenger" means "Islam" -Buddism & Cristianity had no names with Tenger. I think, now I got it. hey Bor chono, do muslim mongolians use "allah tengri"? I don`t know if there are Muslim mongols. Surely Mongolian kazak ppl are Muslims. Just ask any Mongol "-Do U call Allah as Tenger? like -Allah Tenger" they will answer YES. If not, he is Jesus beliver, or he is something rare.  |

Will of Tengri? -This question has no answer. ;DBecause He is too powerful that he doesn`t care about our lives. He doesn`t ask -only mortals want something or ask gods for help. Cristians want to deliver their leader`s(=Jesus) messege all over the world. His messege did not change their human nature,(U can`t forget your sins -maybe when U lose your mind) Thinking that this god cleaned all your sins gives some reason to continue their life -I think no one knows what was the real idea of his father God(Who is he?) -who needs end of world or a Lord anyway?. Buddists want to have peace all over the world -they think that if you can control your emotions U can achive great knowledge. And if U do bad things U will collect bad energy(=sin), if U do good things U will collect good energy. Budda did not tell that he was a god -he bacame one(Jesus too became god after death). Who is a god! By Mongolian tradition every human become BURKAN=God after death. God is a spirit. But Tengri is not god. Budda is called "Burkan Bagsh"="Teacher god". For many years Mongolian Buddism tryed to use & unite old beliefs of Mongols with ideas of Budda. From human spirits to monstars they have pics/images & descriptions. Still Tengries have no image or descriptions -like they don`t exist. They are like PURE ENERGY. It is not that Buddism destroyed old images of Tengries from ppl`s mind. Mongolian buddism say by the will of tengries this or that god will save U. Human spirit :  Nomad Human soul (Nomads must have a horse) rides a horse=spirit-horse that can take U to heaven, holds a spear(I don`t know why spear? not a bow) and followed by dog =royal friend, lead by a bird(maybe eagle or falcon =sacret animals). The great khaan claimed that Mongols were chosen ppl & this war is going only by will of Tengri. Win or Lose Tengri knows. Gods have nothing to do with Tengri, so ppl are allowed to worship to their gods=spirits. But steppe noble had connection with Tengri so The Great Khaan wanted to capture everyone. (Steppe is called middle earth. Maybe Tengri has no power over sedentary down worlds.) Now in Mongolia every mongols like/love to call himself "TENGER YAZGUUR" means "Tenger Noble"="Messenger of Tengri" -But, I think that most don`t understand "Who was Tenger noble ppl". Not Buddism but Soviet regim almost ended these Tengri nobles -some say in year 1937 Stalin sent 35000 bullets to Mongolia, some months later Mongolian government sends 35000 names of nobles  . besides noble families monks, rich ppl also were killed. But all nobles weren`t true Tenger nobles -it is said there is one in 10000(maybe it is because The Great khaan had 10000 elite bodyguards -in battle U need to kill all, because U don`t know who is who /-a legend /). Who is a true Tenger yazguurtan=True messenger of Tengri.(few what I know) Person with great energy=Aura -everyone will be attracted. Where ever he go rain follows or if he ask it will rain. Person who doesn`t eat fish, land diggers meat(maybe mouse like spicies). He can see future in his dreams. Must have special hands or palms (His cloths can be dirty I guess). His movement and speach(doesn`t speak much) is clean -Great leader or warrior. What about will of Allah Tengri? Ofcourse Muhhammed had ideas & wishes too?. What about sin? Do Islam promise sin cleaning? |
