Archeologist can say a lots of things from just the looks. Sometimes they are right sometimes not really. But we respect their point of view because they are PRO. I want us to do the same. To say what we think of and express out thoughts.

About first helmet : For Mongols pointed top was very good. Visor is very useful in empty steppe or desert. With visor U can see far, also archers need it. Nose defence symbolize "Arrow sent from heaven" it means "Tengri is with them" or "They are warriors of Tengri"...something like that. 4 little sun disks used to surround the top Mongols helmet. These little disks were religious protection & symbolized eyes -symbolize, that this warrior could see in 4 direction. I think first helmet has something like it.
Slovak? Looks like Post Mongol to me!
I have no idea about other helmets. They look good.

may be there is some mistakes while naming them ;D I don't think so because the Russians and Poles also used this type of helmets at that time so I guess that helmet type had a wide area of useage ranging from the Middle East up the Slavic World.

Well thats how I classified them. It doesn't mean they are what I said they are.
1st picture really brings up some thoughts. I know thats some muslin generals weared them during the Crussade. Then it was woren by Osmans. In was also common in steppes. Kazakh Batyrs wore them during "Jungar Inavsion" 17th century. (We have something like that in our museum) and it was also woren by Russian Knaz(Duke), Voevod(Commader), Vityaz(knight) and Bogatyr (Tarkan).
For this helmet I can say it could be Turk or Polish/Russian. Kazakh helmet had horse tail on top.
2nd Whats wrong with it?
3rd Well it has a horse head on top. Sarmats usually had horse heads on thier helmets. They worshiped the horse
4th It was a wild guess. Its looks nice on the head of the horse rider!

The Sarmatian helmets posted seem to be attempts to remake the helmets depicted by Trajan's Column, and are not supported as accurate by excavation findings.
More accurately, before the 1st Century BC, Sarmatians would've most commonly worn helmets of heavy Greek or Celtic infuence, bearing resemblance to a pilos helmet, or, in the case of some the aristocracy, direct imports were popular (the Greek Corinthian being notable). Then, beginning in the 1st Century BC, we see the rise of the skeleton helmet, a kind of spangenhelme precursor.

This helmet was in movie "Lord of Rings". Doesn`t look like horse to me! it`s more like crocodile!(or snake). I don`t like the way that the horse head is going down -like dead horse on helmet. -just put your head down & try to look at your chest. Maybe 2nd(Hazar) helmet is too empty for steppe nomad -I mean no decoration & symbolizm. Where is their culture? Last Sarmatian helmet look good, I can see some lines. Strange name for Kazak web site "Barashka!" it can be translated as "Sheepy" or "Home made alcohol" in Russian lang!!!
