www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTzCo2WM-wEI've watched parts of their festival. I've got some questions about it. 1-) First of all what are the things they hold in their hands while running at 4:26 2-) What are they doing at 1:30 turning around a smoke? Is this ALAS with smoke? 3-) What do the cross signs with tails that resemble Ottoman tuğs we see them carrying between 4:30 and 4:37 mean? ------------------------------------ www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAM7TvMTe7IOn this wedding ceremony what are they doing exactly turning around those poles?

The thing you call "Sun" looks very similar to this: This was found on Başet Mountain in Van Turkey. Dated -4000, -6000 The symbol on the left look a lot like Ç (uç: fly?)

First of all, everything they do in this video is a modern choreography. That's Ysyakh 1) yes these are chairs indeed, but it has no cultural meaning whatsoever (who knows what they need them for) 2) The guy who is kneeling in front of the fire (smoke) recites ALGYS, which is a kind of prayer or blessing. The girls are there just for the choreography. 3) These symbols too are a part of a modern choreography. Nothing more.

Interesting. I very much enjoyed reading the other threads on this forum about Sakha, a people I still know so little about. Tell me good sir, what would a historic Sakha ritual be like?
