Because the Armenians had butchered or forced to flee the majority of the Turks living in the region, that's why the entire area was invaded by the Kurds after WWI.

There were very few Turkish families left in Agri & dogubeyazit after WWI, and the bulk of the Turks in the region were most likely the terekemes or karapapaks. They just stoped going there. Dogubeyazit was populated by Turks to a greater extend then the rest of the region. People say armenian genocide. But people never wonder why those provinces became "kurdish provinces". As far as i know there are verry few Turks in those provinces nowadays. My greatgrand father settled in Agri from Ahiska/meskhetia so did several families from that region. they are called maacirs(Muhacirs) wich is emigrant in arabic. The word Turks is seldenly used by the Kurds. Many 'kurdish' families have relatives from armenia come over from time to time. The armenians come to dig up 'graves'. there accualy fake graves were the armenians hid there gold. because Turks wouldn't violate graves. People still search for the armenian gold in the region. You can even make a 50%-50% with the turkish governement who will supply you with armed forces (nothing special 4-5 soldiers) & ofcourse their permission to dig.

I was recently reading memoirs of a Russian general on Caucasian front of WWI, E.M. Maslovsky and here are some interesting thoughts that he wrote. I'll translate from Russian.
“Êóðäû - íàðîä ïðèìèòèâíûé, äèêèé, ñòîÿùèé íà î÷åíü íèçêîé ñòóïåíè êóëüòóðû. Îíè êî÷åâíèêè, õèùíèêè è íå îáëàäàþò ðûöàðñêèìè ÷åðòàìè. Óïîðíîãî áîÿ íå ïðèíèìàþò, äåéñòâóþò â êîííîì è ïåøåì ñòðîþ. Åñëè îíè â áîëüøèíñòâå - òî äåëàþòñÿ ñìåëûìè. Ïëåííûõ íå áåðóò è ðàíåíûõ äîáèâàþò, ïðåäâàðèòåëüíî èçóðîäîâàâ” (Ìàñëîâñêèé. Ñ.27).
Kurds are primitive and wild people, who are on a very low level of cultural development. They are wanderers and do not posses noble features. They don't accept tough combat, fight on feet and mounted. They can became brave if they are numerous. They do not take prisoners and finish wounded after mutilating them.
“Òóðêè-îñìàíëèñòû, êàê áîåâîé ìàòåðèàë, áûëè âûñîêîãî êà÷åñòâà: ñìåëûå, õðàáðûå, ÷ðåçâû÷àéíî âûíîñëèâûå, íåòðåáîâàòåëüíûå è ñêðîìíûå è â òî æå âðåìÿ - äèñöèïëèíèðîâàííûå. Ïî ñâîåé ïðèðîäå îíè áûëè íàñòîÿùèìè âîèíàìè, îáëàäàÿ è îòëè÷àþùèì èñòèííîãî âîèíà áëàãîðîäñòâîì. Îíè õðàáðî äðàëèñü, ïî÷òè âñåãäà ïðèíèìàëè øòûêîâîé óäàð, õîðîøî ïðèìåíÿëèñü ê ìåñòíîñòè, õîðîøî øëè â àòàêó, îòëè÷íî îáîðîíÿëèñü” (Ìàñëîâñêèé. Ñ.44).
Ottoman Turks as a military military material were of a high quality: brave, very tough, not demanding and decent and at the same time disciplined. By their nature they were real fighters possesing nobleness which distinguish true warrior. They fought brave almost always took bayonet charge, skillfully adobted to the terrain, attacked good, defended perfectly.

What he wrote is nothing but absolute truth which has been valid in the region for maybe more than a millenium, from the time of the Arabic caliphs up to the year 2009.

Thanks for your share, Sarmat. Maslovsky described the kurds of today too. Nothing has been changed from the past to current situation.
If you have a spare time, You should write the comments of Russian Commanders about Armenians in WWI.

But they commented a lot about Armenian brutality and their massacres of peaceful Turkish population and prisoners.

Armenians were allies of the Russians anyways, so it is unlikely he would find overly negative words on them.

That sounds like 'reverse propaganda' (compared to modern anti-Turk themes), at the same time this is coming from a Russian general... very interesting... =/
