Hello I was just reading about Ain Jalut and wanted say a little bir about success of Mongols. Discipline; which was earned by fighting side by side in many battles and exprienced generals. Experience; which was earned by many battles against many different nations using many diffent battle formations, weapons and armor. Intimidation; the word "Mongol" was setting fear into men's hearts before they see the horses charge, even before they see the horses Tactics; now this is something that can be diversified, the leaders, the generals, main tactics of steppe warfare, feinting a retreat and at the end all together they bring you victory. That's what I think.

History has proven that not strong weapons but courage and union played a big role in winning wars. After that discipline was mostly important. For example the Mongols, the Xiongnu, the Seljuq and the Ottomans.
If you want to win a war I personally think you need to have a very nationalist and organised empire.
Also don't forget the fact that Turkic and Mongolic people were fierce warriors, they are the son of war. And yeah even Europeans degraded us by saying: the only thing Turks are good in is, is being the best warriors of earth. This does, of course, apply to the Turkic and Mongolic people.

^ The problem with people saying that we are only good as killing machines in particular isn't very good in today's modern world with one simply trying to get by with making money and providing enough for one's wife and child.
And they thought an "uncivilised barbarian" couldn't end up owning his own business and proving how foolish everyone else was. I would appreciate it more if they value our intellectual and cultural relativist ways and principles, then simply just our determination and ferocious past. As for being fierce, well, we don't take sh-t sure. But that's a useful trait, not that we should go around whacking anyone who annoys us, but the will, determination, pride and strength can be applied in family life or business life.
