Violent conflicts are created by each major religion. My point was however that Lamaism is closer to original Mongolian beliefs than classical Buddhism, Islam etc.

this is because lamaism isn't true Buddhism but influenced by the pre-Buddhist religions in this area, like many religions which are forced upon other people mix with their previous believes, like the shemale jesus of the mapuche in Chile. Buddhism as such has nothing to do with the believes of Tengriism and i don't see how that changes anything.

in pre-Columbian times, the highest god was female and indeed most Mapuche shamans are women (80%). when europeans and christianity arrived, the Mapuche only reluctantly converted and were only subdued in the late 19th century. either way, their old believes were never fully extinguished and so Jesus oftentimes is portrayed female. German wiki says the highest god Gvnechen was at the same time mother, father, brother and sister... ;D

On topic, are people aware of the intolerant traits of Christianity? You walk in there and ask them how to bring understanding and end tension between your Shamanist beliefs and those of Christianity. They say this: "Jesus was not tolerant, so we won't be" "Liberalism causes damage to Christianity by allowing false religions" "You are asking us to be tolerant of religions that send people to hell?" "Jesus said that he is the way the truth and the light, all other religious are from the devil and false" "We can love the person but hate the religion" Thanks to my gf being Christian, I've managed to debate with them on a Christian level I say: "Intolerance is contrary to the teachings that God is Love, love isn't intolerant" They say: "The bible declares that in the end times there will be false prophets" Then they stare at me to point the finger, and then proceed to end the discussion and kick me out I say: "By what right do you have to point the finger when Jesus preached not to judge lest you be judged" They say: "I don't judge the person, I judge the religion." ^ That's no different justification then from racialism. I say: "And why do you persist on believing your religion is superior to all other religions and that only your path is the right one?" They say: "Because Jesus is not a prophet, he is the son of the living God" One Hazara friend of mine even had a Christian dude cry in front of him saying "You are such a nice person, I don't want you to go to hell!" ;D Seriously, religious tolerance should only be given to tolerant religions. Intolerance has become a standard "Christian" teaching and is a badge of honor. Pass this addition to the law and you've pretty much evicted every Churchie from your motherland.

It seems like your experience with Christianity comes from contact with rather conservative, fundamentalist Christians. There are Christian denominations out there that would laugh with you at some of those comments. Unfortunately, these denominations are not very widespread because they don't believe in pushing religion upon others like some of the other denominations. I'm rather irreligious personally. But I understand the sentiments. It is a strong reaction against the moral relativism that characterizes modern secular society (at least here in the US). BTW, this is a great site for these topics: www.religioustolerance.orgI should add... I know a lady shaman who is a Christian. I know she administers to members of her parish, they're all cool with it, and every part of it is interpreted from a Christian perspective.

They aren't very widespread because very few Christians fail to understand the message behind the bible. My gf has her own outreach ministry in which she preaches everything I agree with, never intolerance, never materialism, the message is pure love. She doesn't even ask for offerings unlike 95% of churches out there, yet ironicly one rich dude who attended her service insisted on giving her a check of $1000 just to build her church ne way! The HUGE majority of Christians however, are not tolerant, this is a fact. They believe in those things posted, and will not ever dare to even learn about the ways of Shamanism before they judge! My gf believes it's because their faith is weak, so they are afraid to question, afraid to learn. Yet, this still makes them dangerous. Therefore, passing a law against Christian intolerance will evict every single destructive church out there. Besides, it's a law against intolerance, not a law against the faith

I think your girlfriend sounds right.
I do think though we shouldn't only accuse Christianity of these problems even though that is the topic. I think every sort of "global" religion has the same issues.
