seems like there are some separatist groups now who are fed up with the environmental conditions near the Aral Sea. Any comments? globalnewsblog.com/news/?cat=135

I am not coming from an angle of justifying any occupation.
I think the grievances that the locals have may better taken up through negotiations than declaring independence. More succession is not good for Turkic Union, at a time when the region really wants to come together more.

i think it would be good if Qaraqalpaq identity is strenghtened. the Turkic people don't need to live in the same country but they need to cooperate more closely in a confederacy.

The Qaraqalpaqs have always been at odds with the Uzbeks, "thanx" to Soviet Russian policy of divide-and-rule.

I'd support an independent Karakalpakistan just as long as they have good relations with the Uzbekistan and the rest of the Turk World. The more Turk nations the better.
