www.ataturk.com/content/view/44/80/Ever read this book?Ýt looks good,do you know will it translate into Turkish? And: The idea of being Turkish is debated. For instance, when I asked [President of Kazakhstan] Nursultan Nazarbayev, sitting in his $18 million Boeing, "Who are you," the first thing he said was, "I am a Turk," which surprised me.
I said, "What do you mean by that?"
He said, "I don't mean anything to do with Turkey. Those people in Turkey are half-breeds. They are the descendants, mixed with the people who are already there. We conquered them. They intermarried, and they formed Turkey. We are the pure Turks."Nazabajev really said this?

I had a look at that book and one of our close friends read it. The book is quiet biased and gives more importance to anti-Turkish views, while it also supports Recep Tayyip Erdoðan.

I read it twice and I think it's a great book. I didn't notice anything anti-Turkish in that book, what do you think was anti-Turkish about it? I didn't know they had it in Turkish, what do the Turkish readers in Turkey think of this book?

The book is mostly about modern day politics, major events and cultural issues of the Turk World.

The author praises RTE (surely an anti-Turk as he openly says that he gets annoyed by the useage of the name "Turk") and claims that Ebulfeyz Elçibey was a "drunkard who got ousted by his people because of that". That is purely untrue.
He also claims that most of the Turks are still living in the Middle Ages.

The prime minister or the author? The prime minister said it two or three years ago ("If you say 'How happy of me to be a Turk', someone would have the right to say 'How happy of me to be a Kurd'"; "Turk is a minor identitiy, the major identity should be 'Turkeyian'").
