Must be a common steppe cultural element which can't be contributed to a single group of people.

Why ice cream? I read that lemonade wasinvented by Mongols in the 1200s, but it wasn't a reliable source I read this from.

I don`t think Ancient Rome had icecream -maybe they had wine with ice. It is likely to be that origin of icecream is East, China claim to have the oldest record of it. Marco Polo claim to brought Spagetti & Icecream from China. During Mongol Yuan dynasty court nobles(=Mongols) liked to eat icecream for desert. Chinese minds could create icecream. Maybe they had refrigeration techniques. However there is one BUT. -CHINESE DON`T LIKE MILK!!! -most of them haven`t ever tasted it. I heard that Ancient Chinese called milk as BARBERIAN DRINK, and there are 6 types of milk. Who would like to eat/drink cold milk/kimis instead of cold Tea or Wine? -A NOMAD!!!. (Sugar is added to make it taste sweet -maybe make it like Fruit Juce. if the milk had a lot of butter -Walla..Icecream!.)

What about this Info. www.aina.org/books/bftc/bftc.htm1.Mongolian general's helmet left on the beach after the retreat of the invading Mongols in 1281. The helmet bears a carving of a shield or heart with a Christian cross in the center. It is in the Nichiren Museum in Fukuoka, Japan. 2.Painting of the 1281 Mongolian invasion of Kyushu, Japan, with two preserved hand guns in the foreground. Nichiren Mongolian Invasion Museum, Fukuoka. -WOW ! first hand guns!?

The helmet must have belonged to a Nestorian Christian.
I don't think those handguns are related with the Mongol Invasion. They look as if they are from the Sengoku (Warring States) Period.

The helmet is a much later European style, contemporary with the handguns, not like any Mongol/Chinese/Korean types.
Are you sure these are meant to be Mongol Invasion pieces ?
