Dec 12 (Interfax-AVN) - The Turkish armed forces have transferred defense materiel to Kazakhstan within the framework of an intergovernmental agreement on military assistance. The ceremony of delivering the materiel took place as a part of the visit of a Turkish military delegation headed by head of the department of the rear at the Turkish General Staff Lieut. Gen. Zafer Chamlydzh, which is to come to an end on December 13, says a statement by the press service of the Kazakh Defense Ministry published on Tuesday. The statement does not specify the amount of materiel given to Kazakhstan. The head of the Turkish delegation met with logistics head of the Kazakh General Staff Kazhgalei Mukatov, the statement says. "The meeting focused on the state of affairs and prospects for cooperation in the logistics area," the press release says. www.interfax.com/3/221951/news.aspx
