After looking at different Turkic ethnic groups and the sub tribes within them..
I noticed in that Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Uzbeks, and even Hazaras.. there is a tribe named Naiman..
I assume this is the same Naiman tribe that fought with Genghis Khan and took over Kara-Khitai.
Has there been any movement to unite these Naiman groups into one ethnicity?

Yes, they are the Naimans of Pre-Genghis era, but they are divided into different peoples, and now they speak different languages/dialects, so it is not that easy to bring them all together.

Yes, naiman means "Eight" - the Naiman people were called like this because they were made up of eight tribes. They also had a Turkic names, "Säkizlär", which also ment "Eight (Tribes)". There is a theory that they were the descendents the Säkiz Oġuz (Sekiz Oguz, Eight Tribes) mentioned in the early Uyghur inscription of Shine Usu written for Bayan Čor Qaġan (Bayan Chor Qaghan) in the mid-8th century, but there is nothing else to proove that.

I haven't seen, or at least don't remember seeing any full list of their tribes. However, we know from the SHoM that during late 12th-early 13th centuries, they were divided into to groups, of which one branch was called Güčü'üt Naiman in Mongolian.

Naimans are found in many other tribes already, I know a Naiman who is a Hazara mongol, and would rather establish a Hazara nation then a Naiman nation.

Old topic, but weren't the Naimans Nestorian Christians? They were probably some of the only Christians (and the majority of them) in the vicinity of Mongolia, at least at such an early date.

Yes, they were Nestorian Christians, but not the only one in and around Mongolia. The Kereys (Kereyit) and Öŋs (Önggüt) were also Nestorians.

Hello all Friends My name is Zaker Naiman from Afghanistan From the Hazara Nation, Naiman tribe Its so nice starting discussion about the ethnic history (overall) Let me to say briefly about the Hazara Nation and Naiman tribe in Afghanistan Hazara Nation in Afghanistan is one of the four important nations in this country (Hazara, Uzbek, tajik and pashtun) During the history of Afghanistan’s nation-building, The Hazara population have been one of the victims of Pasthuns hegemony and internal imperialism. Pashtuns Believe that Afghanistan belongs to them and other nations have came form Another place here (Afghanistan) so as their believe the other nations are Refugees During that time The Hazara has been victimized exclusively because of the Turk- Mongoloid appearance and customs. And about 62 percent of its population was genocides by Abdurrahman.(government) But actually Hazaras are one of the Nations of Turk ethnic which is resident so far before appearance of Islam to Turanian land. Status of Buddha in Bamyan is the best reason for rejection of their Claim ……… About the Naiman and Qaralug: There are more tribe in Hazara Nation: Dai-zangi, Dai-mirdad, Dai-chupan, Dai –kalan Dai-fulad, and more …. Naiman and Qarlug are known as Hazara nation as the same as the other tribes among it. The Hazaras people believe in that Hazara is one of the great nations of Turk ethnic like Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek Tatar, Azeri and Turk people in turkey and more..... They believe in that we (Naiman and Qarlug) belong to Turk and Mongol ethnic also but from separate tribe. But unfortunately I don’t have any history reference to gain more full information about the Naiman. I would like to ask you all friends: Have you heard or read an article about the Naiman in Afghanistan (history and ....)? Where is the original land of Naiman? How they came in Afghanistan? And more question which I am willing to know but couldn't find in INTERNET or any reference in Afghanistan. I would be appreciate if any of you could help me and give me the address of sites and reference for studying in these issues. Thanks Waiting for your nice replying

Dear Zaker Naiman,
Welcome to our board. Nice to see people from our Hazara brothers in SHF.
About your questions
I think All Hazara tribes(Naimans too) came to Afghanistan in Genghish Kagans campaigns against Khwārazm-Shāh Dynasty. Naimans were originally a Turkic tribe from Western Mongolia. Today, You can find Naiman tribes among Kazakh, Mongols, Kyrygz, Uzbek people.

ROFL! Hell, for the steppe people, what we really need is a kick in the as-
But for the Ostrogoths, they shall need the very divine powers of resurrection itself!
