Hello dear friends, here is the online version of my article titled Askerî Târîh Açýsýndan Köl Tigin ("Köl Tigin From A Military History Perspective") published in the September 2006 edition of the Gazi Eðitim Fakültesi Dergisi (Journal of the Faculty of Education of Gazi University) The article is in Turkish only. www.gefad.gazi.edu.tr//window/dosyapdf/2006/1/2006-1-203-226-14-h.ihsanerkoc.pdfHowever, after I handed down the article to the editors, they made some changes without telling me, such as merging the "Historical Sources" with the "Modern Researchs" under the title "Sources" (it was Bibliography in the original version). Plus, even though the Chinese characters are visible in the printed edition, they appear as empty boxes in this .pdf version One more thing is that after the article was published, I realised I had done two mistakes: - While quoting Gumiljov in the Blue Turk campaign in 711 against the Türgish, I said that I could not find anything to support Gumiljov's claim about the Blue Turk army being made up of only 20,000 men. Later, I saw that number in one of the Chinese sources I used in the article Appearently, it went pass my attention. - While writing the article, I could not understand what "turn and hit" used in the inscriptions ment. I later realised that it means "surrender and attack/hit".

"turn and hit" sounds like "suddenly turnign against the enemy and attackign him". like on a fake retreat for example.

Yes but that was the wrong translation I used in Muharrem Ergin's version. The word used there, ägir, means "turn around" and "surrender". So Köl Tigin "got around the enemy" and "surrended" them before killing.
