We all know that the Arabs migrated and settled down thousands of Syrian-Iraqi Arabs during the Umawwid Period in the towns of Khorâsân and Transoxiana. What happened to these people in the following centuries? Did they move back to where they came from? Did they survive as a different ethnic group? Did they got assimiliated into the local populations? Did they got massacred?

The Kodjas of Qazaqstan claim themselves as grandsons of Prophet Muhammed. They are probably the descendants of Arabic missionaries.
But I don't know about the people you asked.
