Hello, Happy to share my knowledge on one of the very interesting topic of Ancient history in asian countries. Ancient Samarkand Archaeological evidence suggests that the area of Samarkand had already been occupied by human beings during the 14th century BC. During the 6th century BC, the city became part of the Achaemenid Empire when it was conquered by Cyrus the Great. During the reign of Darius the Great, Samarkand was designated as the capital of the satrapy of Sogdiana. here is the link with a brief Article. www.ancient-origins.net/ancient-places-asia/samarkand-ancient-link-between-east-and-west-005355Hope you all find it informative.
