I recall reading an article somewhere (not quite sure where, though) that mentioned Mongolians decorating their hair/braids with hair rings. I know that some other asian cultures wear hair rings, Tibetans for example, but I haven't found much about Mongolian hair rings. The owner of this site ethnicjewels.ning.com/photo/group-of-rings-and-hair-rings-tibet-and-mongolia-n-pakistan-and has an image of multiple rings and hair rings, three of which are appearently Mongolian though I don't know whether they're for fingers or hair. I've seen pictures of Mongol women with ribbons or strips of cloth woven into their braids and one of a woman with some sort of jeweled clips attached to her braid mingyouxu.deviantart.com/art/Back-View-208783430, but not much other jewelry. Searching can be difficult because a) Image and web searches are not always as specific as you want them to be and b) Searches for anything with the words 'Mongolian' and 'hair' seem to mostly bring up results for hair extensions. I've taken a recent interest in the traditional fashions of this people and have been curious about this for a while. It's not very important that this be answered but any help is appreciated. Thanks to all who read this!
