Just curious how much of Heavy Cavalry (armoured horses) did the Mongols under Genghis Khan use ?´

heavy cavalry and armored horses is not the same. by definition all mongol horsemen were light cavalry, no matter if they were armored or not.
if individual warriors wore armor or not depended on status, wealth and loot. military units were not organized by the amount of armor they wore.

Should have used the term Cataphract,sorry about the confusion. But Genghis didn´t grouped his warriors after military Use ?´ I can´t imagine a lightly armed warrior would charge against the enemy or even flank him. Thanks for the fast reply.

what was the exact terms they used to make the distinction? you can also post the hanzi, i have a dictionary.

Chinese sources make distinction between heavy and light cavalry of the Gokturks. I have seen some depictions of Uyghurs which mounted armoured Horses in another thread.

Armour and horse armour is well attested for Mongols. Tactics, though don't seem to vary much.
Some units in some areas were very definitely 'heavy cavalry' eg the 'Black Army', an ex Jin unit used in the conquest of North China. Also the 'heroes' that formed the main line of the Ilkhanid army at several battles.
